A tour for the weekend that is based in Alba, the tower city. We explore an area, Langhe and Roero, which is a World Heritage Site among hills and vineyards and spectacular landscapes. You can taste the famous Barolo and Barbaresco wines and typical dishes of one of the best cuisines in Piedmont.

1st day individual arrival in Alba
The ancient Alba Pompeia founded by the Romans has maintained its medieval appearance, a tower city with narrow and twisted alleys and noble palaces, to be seen day and night.

2nd day Alba - Bra - Alba approx. 60 Km
From Alba we cycle along a hilly route that passes through Santa Vittoria with its high medieval crenellated tower, a town founded by the Romans after the victory over the Visigoths; we continue until we enter Bra, the capital of Roero: the city is famous for having given birth to Slowfood, the now world organization committed to restoring value to food, respecting those who produce it, in harmony with the environment and ecosystems. We continue facing a short but steep climb that leads to Cherasco, a quiet town with a Roman plan where the famous armistice took place in 1796 between France and the Kingdom of Sardinia. We then pass through La Morra, where we admire a splendid landscape and descend to Barolo, the capital of the excellent wine of the same name, appreciated all over the world; we then descend again until we return to Alba

3rd day  Alba - Govone - San Martino Alfieri - Alba     45 Km
Flat route to the north-east along the Tanaro, then we face a challenging but not long climb towards San Martino Alfieri where we find a 1700s castle, precisely that of the Marquises Alfieri, then we continue towards Govone, famous for its Royal castle, former Savoy residence and for the high production of excellent Barbera wine. The view of the Langhe vineyards is exceptional. We return on a flat route and through small villages we return to our Alba.
